Indonesia Trip - Part 1

December 26th, 2007
We left the house at around 3:45pm with Gatot and Entin. We carried 5 suitcases along with a couple carry-on bags. On top of that each of the kids brought their own backpack. We were so excited. Our trip from Delaware to JFK lasted about 5 hours, thanks to rush hour and the accident right before the Verrazano bridge. Oh well. We arrived at JFK right at 8pm, 1 hour before check-in time. It was perfect timing! Check-in was a breeze, no sweat! By the time we boarded it was 12:15 and we were all tired. So needless to say that our flight to Incheon, Korea was a piece of cake. All of the monkeys were pretty much fast asleep.

December 28th, 2007 - Incheon, South Korea
We arrived at 5:35am local time. We had 1 1/2 hour to waste before checking in at the Transit Hotel. So we went to KFC and had some chicken and french fries (for breakfast) and some lemonade. We checked-in at 7am, got in the room, turn on the TV and learned that Benazir Bhutto was assasinated. See what we miss in about 17 hours ? For 3 hours we watch CNN covering this tragic news. Then we showered and took a pretty long nap.

We boarded our flight to Jakarta at 3pm. The 7 hour flight was pretty good. The kids pretty much sleep, watch a movie or eat. We arrived in Jakarta at 8:30pm. Immigration and Custom was also a breeze. I was actually surprised! My sister, Diana and her family (Ocka, Gian and Carol) was there along with my mother, my youngest brother, Abner and my cousin. They brought 2 cars to the airport. To my surprise my sister pulled-up in a 2007 Nissan Serena complete with 3 LCD TV. Company car of course, but I guess when you are a Head Legal Content of a major TV network, you get pretty much everything. Nice....
We got to the house and started unpacking and gave everyone their souvenirs. I guess everyone was pretty happy. My sister's house is a 3 stories Balinese style house (so they claimed)! Thankfully, all the bedroom has AC in them.
